"Great Grandfather's Drum" celebrates the Japanese American culture and history in Hawaii, by honoring the plantation life, WW11 heroism and Hawaii's statehood. The film portrays Maui Taiko, a contemporary Japanese American drum ensemble. Kay Fukumoto of Maui Taiko will also be teaching Fukushima Ondo, a traditional folk dance.
