Mitchell Fukumoto (Kahului, Hawaii) began playing taiko at the age of three with Maui Taiko and was a member of Stanford Taiko. He joined SJT's Audition Process class in 2014. In addition to performing, Mitchell teaches Public Workshops and Oyako (parent/child) Workshops. He also teaches the children's taiko class at Palo Alto Buddhist Temple. His first composition for San Jose Taiko, “Boomerang,” debuted in fall 2019.
