Wisa Uemura

Executive Director

Wisa Uemura (Kula, HI) began playing taiko in 1993 with Stanford Taiko. She is a member of SJT's Audition Process class of 1998, became a staff member in 1999, and became Executive Director in 2011. Wisa has presented at the North American Taiko Conference, World Taiko Gathering, Intercollegiate Taiko Invitational, Alliance for Artist Communities National Conference, Silicon Valley Creates, and the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation Board of Directors. Wisa is a member of the American Leadership Forum Silicon Valley's Senior Fellow Class XXXI, BoardSource Leadership Certification for Nonprofit Chief Executives, and the Multicultural Arts Leadership Institute (MALI).
